The colorectal cancer screening program in Ontario is due to change on July 1, 2026. One of the key changes is that the screening age will drop to 45 (from 50) for average risk individuals. This is to facilitate earlier detection with rising rates of early-onset colorectal cancer. Early detection is critical and provides the highest chance for cure.
